The Wrap Up – Pasture Information Evening

On the 5th April, the Co-op hosted a very well attended pasture Information evening aimed at addressing potential shortfalls in feed availability this winter following the floods. The presenters were the leaders in their fields – Phil Kelmsley. LLS veterinarian discussing animal health considerations, Eddie Hayward from Rous CC spoke on weed problems, and Natasha Favaloro from William’s Seeds explained how to plant productive pastures to beat the weeds.

Andrew Cameron, rural officer with Byron Shire presented trends he is seeing in the district and Nitya Rolfe from the NSW Government was there to help landholders navigate flood recovery issues.

The night started with a free BBQ  (thanks Fiona and Sunnie) and finished with the opportunity for networking with other landholders and the speakers.

There will be more of these events so make sure you don’t miss out. Mullumbimby Co-op. Is keen to build relationships between all the parties who can come together to improve mutual productivity and social cohesion.
